I feel the need to rant about my latest obsession!

I am now an anti-rider. I suggest you all join me in my hatred for that pile of horseshit that is ERAGON by Christopher Panini.

http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/

You would probably be better off reading the articles on that site than reading the following rant, but whatever...

rant- Eragon SUCKS! It is poorly writen. The characters are charicatures of what a well rounded human being (or elf, or dwarf, or dragon) shoud be. The worst part is, this guy is being hailed as a fantasy prodegy, and is making millions. I can write better than him! Eragon is nothing but a bad MarySue-selfinsert-fanfic. He wrote a story about himself. He wrote a LOTR/Dragons of Pern  AUcrossover fic staring himself. He made himself a dragon rider who had to save the world, he made Arwen fall in love with him. Then, because he has no originallity, he took the plot of Star Wars. Finaly, he switched some names around, claimed it an original peice of writing, and, because his parents owned a publishing company, proceeded to sell it to a bunch of pre-teens! -rant done

The only good part of Eragon is... Murtagh. Oh Murtagh, you smexy anti-hero, though hast stolen my heart! Eragon, whould have been much better if it had been retitled Murtagh, and writen by someone with a thimble full of talent. And I'm not just saying this because the actor is hot, OK. He is by far, the most complex character. Unfortunately, Panini got mad because Murty was stealing all Eragon's (his) thunder, so he decided to 'kill' off Murtagh at the begining of the red brick (Eldest). What an idiot.

Did I say the rant was over back there? Oh, sorry.

"So long, and Goodnight!"

OMFG these people LIKE me [12/14/2006 @ 7:27pm]
So, today, I got christmas prezies from CLASSMATES. I know. And not just crappy, "I'm gonna give everyone I run into" presants either. Nice, well thought out ones. 2 of them. This has never happened to be before. And suddenly, 2 on the same day.

God, I love ND.

First, from Katie (not ACS Catie). One of those adorable Emily the Strange patchwork kittie plushies. Also, a REALLY cool card she made, totally personalized. *squee*
From Alyssa (spelling?) a stocking w/ candies and a stuffed dogy that looks kinda like he ran into a well but is still somehow cute.

And to top that off, a stuffed skelanimal dogy from my big sister Sarah! (my ND big sister, not my biological little one, lol) And guess what, forgot to bring her a presant! I'm terrible.

Annie only wants to post 10 minuets after she just made an entrie [12/13/2006 @ 7:51pm]

Umm... must talk about something.

Ooh, Saw the new James Bond. Good, except he was fugly.
My dad likes the fugly James Bond. He say's that Bond became too much of a gentleman. But I say, How can he be a womanizer if he's fuggley?

'said I would do NaNoWriMo, but I never got around to doing it. I've been so stressed lately.

I think I'm suffering from a post Fright Night hangover. Have you ever gotten that feeling where you put 110% of yourself into something, and then just have it end? And your just sitting there thinking that's it?

The only feeling that's really anything like it is that feeling you get christmas afternoon. All the presants have been opened, you had your dinner, everyone is getting ready to leave... Anyway, that's sort of how I feel now. Fright Night was last night, we spent all day practicing. We preformed, it was great. We finished, congradulated eachother, cleaned up, and left. It was over, just like that.

So, to make myself feel better, I'm going to do a bit of remnicing.

For me, practice is the best part. All the stupid and silly things that happen, which I'm going to write about now, but you guys will probably not get.
Ready, here we go!

A few little disjointed nugets of stupid.

Mr. Curran: Captain Barbossa, you sexy beast!

Mr. Curran: Captain Barbossa, you beast!
Mr. Thomas (aka Barbossa): Yes, I'm a sexy beast.

Hannah: Did you know adding "If you know what I mean" to any sentance makes it dirty?

Me: OMFG FOOD PARTY!

Mrs. Curran: But honey, we don't play karate!

Michael: Oh, boxboxbox, help me box!

My dad: This is the first candie I ever gave you, you ate it, and then said, numnumnum.

Chelsea: We have the stigma! Jenova is calling the reunion!

Me (again): Have YOU had your 24 ounces of milk yet today?

Kenny: Ah, servant C, have you gotten Mr. Watkin's his strawberry daquery yet?

Well, I can't think of any more now, but there were many more of these sorts of things.

Oh, and on a final note, if anyone buys me the Sims 2 pets, I will love them forever.

How May Different Ways Can YOU Say Chris Carrabba? [10/20/2006 @ 5:25pm]
[ mood | amused ]

So, the Dashboard Confessional concert last tuesday was really awesome. I must say, my opinion of them (him?) as a band is a whole lot higher. I've never been REALLY crazy about them, but I think I can say I'm a fan now.

Oh, and I got the coziest T-shirt EVER, seriously. I love it. And we also almost stole a promotional poster, but they'd all been stolen by the time we got out XD

But about the concert. As previously stated it was really awesome. I only saw one emo kid in really tight pants though *sigh*. Anyway, Chris Carrabba lead the show this lots of energy. The lights were amazing. The chick they had playing violin was awesome. The audience was intense.

It also vaguely put me in mind of some sort of group therapy lesson. At the very end, Carrabba said something along the lines of, "Here's what we're gonna do. You're gonna leave everything you brought in here behind when you leave this theater. Leave it all behind. I'll do it too." Or something like that.

Yes, I think the best part of the show was best. The encore was Hands Down, and he ended the show by leading us all in a chorus of "And I know that you meant it," which was sappy (obviously) but endearing non the less. I mean, what did you expect, this is Dashboard Confessional.

Oh, and a tidbit of funny for you all...

On the way to the show, I mentioned the Mum that I had no idea whether his name was Chris Carrabba, or Chris Cabbarra. I was very confused.

While waiting for the show to start, Mum (not on purpose) called him Chris Carrumba. Since it always takes FOREVER for the band to get on stage, Mum and I entertained ourselves by trying to make amusing guesses at what his name really is.

This is some of what we got.
Chris Carrabba
Chris Carrumba
Chris Carroomba
Chris Cabbarra
Chris Ca-whoosit?
Chris Caboora
Chris Carrarra
And I forgot most of the rest...

Anyway, it occurred to us later that we could probably ask any person in the very large crowd around us, and find out the answer. Did we? Well, take a guess. I'll give you a hint. I finally found out how to spell his name by looking it up in the Wikipedia.

So, I challenge YOU! to think up as many ways you can possibly spell Chris Carrabba. Ready... Set... GO!

Oh, and according the LJ spell check, he should be Chris Canberra.

Mr. Curran's Black Belt Ceremony [10/15/2006 @ 4:03pm]

[ music | When You Were Young- The Killers ]

So, Mr. Curran got his black belt today. The ceremony was great. It's really good for our school to have another black belt, and Mr. Curran worked impossibly hard to get his belt. Every Saturday he woke up at 5 to get to Alamo for a 7 o'clock class.

Anyway, at the ceremony I learned that there are actually only 30 (well, 31 now) Bok-Fu-Do black belts. That should give you a feel for what this means to our school.

Luckily, I didn't have any imrassing moments with the Grand Master this time XD. However, my dad did parade me around the Alamo instuctors a bit.

Feeling a bit better now, I'm on antibiotics. Anyway, 'till next time.

Alright, I have to appologize for my lack of livjournal and internet activitie in the past 2 weeks. I was grounded (rather not say why...), and only got my computer back last tuesday. Anyway, I should have posted this update days ago, but I'm lazy, forgive me.

Well, my dad and sister are in NY visiting my grandpa, so mum and I have the house to ourselves this weekend. We're gonna go see a play tonight, and tomorrow we're gonna see a movie. Anyway, mum decided to go ointo a concert mania. She (I had no part in this) has bought us tickets the Dashboard Confessional, lord knows why. I have to problem with going to a DC concert, so it's cool. Then, we bought some of the last tickets to see Panc! At the Disco, awesome! We almost got tickets to see All American Rejects and Motion CIty Soundtrack, but then we realized that happeneds the day before P!ATD, so I would be going to concerts on monday and tuesday, and I would be a mess for school.

[9/20/2006 @ 4:21pm]
Hey, remember this layout? Yeah, it's messed up. I got this brilliant idea to try to tweak my layout so the friends page would look good, and of course I forgot my rule of always saving the original code in Word before I screwed with it. So, the horrible happend and my layout was ruined. ick. I'm too tired to try to fix it now... I'll try to redo it later.

WOOT! [8/23/2006 @ 1:36pm]
New Layout! and I made this one all by me lonesome! *pats on back*

So, my brilliant idea was that I could just change the header for every new obsession I get. Like, instead of changing the layout.

So, since and is still stuck in Advent Children Fever, she has decided to use the Cloudy Wolf header first...

PS. Oh, and I think I may have accidentallly on purpose snaged this background from you, Brooke. May I pleasepleaseplease keep it?

PPS. And the friend's page is still screwed up... DON'T GO THERE!

Deciding to suport an independant band can be like investing in the stockmarket. You never know what will happen. Will they sign mayor and be huge? Or will they sign major and go bankrupt? Will they become underground legends? Or will they soon breakup and fade off into obsucrity.

Last night my mom and I when to this month's South First Friday. What is this you ask? It's an eclectic evening of arts and culture in downtown San Jose's SoFA District every First Friday of the month. It's actually really fun.

4 art gallereys are open for free. They have live music. They have vendor's set up around the band. It's great. I bought this cute little kitty patch.

Tracy from Mulberry told me about it. So, I dragged Mum along. I think she enjoyed it.

It's times like this that I'm remided of how cool my mum used to be. She told my that this area was really scene about 10 years ago.

"Good luck bringing it back, Annie," she told me.

Anyway, we say this band called Fake Public.

It's strange how much a person can change in one year.

This was my first week back a mulberry this summer (I'm actually getting paid this time). This also means that I finnaly got to see my good friend Sarah Gross this week.

I guess I have to explane the deal with Sarah: We're both former Mulberry kids, and I've known her since Kgarden. To be quite honest, I hated her for the longest time. We always played together, but we always fought. She bit me. She called me fat. But we still hung out.

He mum died froma seizure when we were in 2nd grade. I remember her well. She was a really nice lady, and always helped out with the garden. When she died we dedicated a tree to her in the big yard.

Anyway, shortly afterwords I left Mulberry for Yavneh, and stoped seeing Sarah outside camp. I didn't pitty her. I still didn't really like her. We still hung out. I don't think I started liking her until we grew out of camp and became volunteers. But that gets me thinking, maybe I always liked her after all.We started a routein of riding our bikes to camp and back every day. It was fun.

We became closer friends than before. You have to understand, Sarah and I were always very different. She was always pretty in pink. She shopped at Holister. She was always trying to convince me to shave my legs, or wear spagetti straps (which I know reluctantly do sometimes). But we were friends.

So imagine my shock when I see her. Hair died brown, AFI teeshirt, skull van's slip ons. We hug.

"Awesome shirt," I say.
"Yeah, but their old stuff was way better," she says.
You've got to be kidding me! "Yeah."

What happened here? Not that I'm complaining.

Well, thanks for reading my little rant. I feel like writing right now, so maybe I'll try my hand at some fanfiction. Not SK, sorry folks, no idea's there. But I've been having some thoughts lately...

to lai-tai or not to lai-tai [7/26/2006 @ 1:04pm]

The first two are good too.

Now, on a completely different subject. How I Did In Baltimore: pretty well.

I got a silver in light contact fighting. There were 4 competitors. You need 3 point to win. I beat the first girl I won 3-2. I was down 2 nothing, and then I was able to score 3 in a row to win. The fight for first was really close. It was 2-2 and she scored the final point. This is suprising 'cause I hardly had any practice.

I got 4th for my mass attack. There were 7 competitors in this one. What was really scary was after I finished and got my score, the head judge (a black belt from Grand Master Lee's school) asked my how old I was.

Me: 15
Her: You're from Master Ozuna's school, right?
Me: Yeah
Her: Tell him that we think you should fight on the lai-tai when you're older.

Now I understand that most of you probably don't know what lai-tai fighting is, so alow me to explain. Lai-tai fighting is a form of full contact fighting. It got it's name from the raised platform the participants fight on. Basically, the fighters go onto the lai-tai with almost no protection. They get head gear, but that's about it. You can do almost anything up there. You can push, shove, punch, kick, or graple your oponant to the ground. Clearly, this is very dangerous.

Mr. Curran and Ms. Doung fought this year. I watched them. Ms. Doung got gold in her weight class. The judges made a mistake with Mr. Curran and he fought an oponant in the wrong weight class. I mean the WRONG weight class. 168 to Mr. Currans 115. It was aweful. He was alowed to fight again, but you can imagine after getting thrown around the lai-tai by a giant he wasn't at his best. He did go on to win 3rd though, which was pretty good.

Anyway, the judge, whoose name I can't remember for my life, came up to me again at the banquett after the tornament. She basically said that she could see that my strikes were strong and fast, and that I was holding back. (which was true, because 2 of my 3 dummies were girls, and I couldn't really hit them. Then she asked what my nickname would be when I fought on the lai-tai. She said it would have to be something fast and strong. Anyway, she and Will (who was sitting with me) came up with 'The Reaper'.

Kind of creepy. I'm not sure I want to die so young...
What do you guy's think?

[7/19/2006 @ 2:35pm]
[ mood | anxious ]

Greetings my dearest friends... Tomorrow I depart to Baltimore, Maryland, for the USCKF international tornament. For those of you that are wondering, United States Chinese Kuoshu Federation. I'll be competing in light contact, chinese form, kenpo form, kenpo weopon, and kenpo mass attack. I don't expect to do very well on acount of the fact that my mass attack was started on monday, and I only got my dummies yesterday, and they aren't very good because all the good dummies are overloaded with 7 or 8 mass attacks already. My forms havn't been practiced nearly enough anyway. I may not even do my light contact, because I only got one day of practice for it.

Anyway, I must appologize for not following up on things lately. I've hardly written about Italy, which I still want to do, and I still havn't written about the results of Master O's competition. I'll tell you this right now. He got in the top 20 for North America, he should have one, the contest was corrupt, and I'm not just being a sore looser.

On a completely different note, Lizzie! comment me and update you journal! I expect an update by the time I get back, or I will be seriously pissed off at you! And no one wants that.

[7/13/2006 @ 1:19pm]
[ mood | busy ]

Well, something slightly unexpected has come up. Master Ozuna has been chosen to compete in a chinese TV show called K-Star. Let me explane. The premise of the show is pretty simple, it's kind of like American Idol only cooler. The competition is for the best martial artists world wide, whoever wins will be given a movie contract. The judges include Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Anhway, Master O has been selected into the group of 100 from the 500 originaly accepted in the competition. So, my dad and I, and some other insturctors from our school are going down to LA for the weekend to see the competition.

As you can see, this is pretty exiting. It kind of sucks to be leaving home right after I got back, but it's only for a little while. Master Ozuna has always wanted to be in the show biz, so he really would like to win this.

PS. I don't know if any of you guys have heard of Final Fu. Anyway, this is a show that's going to be premeiring of MTV (I think) pretty soon. The BEST matrial artists in the world compete for the title final fu. Obviously it's being run by world renouned Ernie Reyes Jr... Sorry, I find this hilarious. btw, no offence Bryce.

Anyway, gotta run. I havn't done any laundry since I got back, and now I need to wash my clothes before my dad gets back from work.
